Is Engineering a Noble Pursuit?

Hi Guys, I think most of the people may have their answers to this question. It's going to be either yes or no, and I want to try to find the other one. Also, there is going to be the only truth and not praising or demeaning this or any profession here.

There is a difference between the word pursuit and profession. The profession is said to be a respected word for paid occupation and Pursuit is chasing something which drives our passion.

As Scott Adams once said,

"Engineers like to solve problems, if there are no problems handily available, they will create their problems."

Passion driven work never failed, and it always gives happiness or pleasure to work. Engineering needs a person to be passionate, and if not, then they can not understand engineering forever.

Engineering mainly meant to be improving the quality of living and bringing innovation in many aspects of our life. But the value of engineering gone down as it became the general job to everyone.

Engineers are becoming common words, but engineering is not. People who see engineering as a job are never going to feel satisfied in their life. It's just a waste of their time. But what to do this is called life.

My final thoughts are 

"Engineering became a common ground for all and Everyone can be Engineer. At the same time, This also diminishes the value of it and became a job rather a pursuit."
